Human Body Systems
We have just finished an entire 6 weeks talking about cells and are ready to head into a 6 week unit on the human body systems.
This year has really flown by!
With our new curriculum (CScope), I have not had as much time as I would have liked to keep this blog updated. Will try to do better!

New School Year!
I am so pleased to have these wonderful 7th graders in my Science classes this year!!
Here at PTISD we have adopted a new curriculum called CScope. It is set up in units. 7th grade science also has new TEKS (the student expectations). It is a new way of thinking for teachers and students.
We have already worked on our 1st and 2nd Units. Unit 1 was lab safety, and Unit 2 included photosynthesis, food chains/webs, and biomass/composting.
We will be starting Unit 3 tomorrow, Sept. 17th. Unit 3 is entitled Elements, Compounds and Mixtures. We will be working with the periodic table.
Make sure you check out my website http://classroom.ptisd.org/webs/cwhyte/home.htm for lesson plans and pictures of labs.
Ecology Unit
We are now working on our Ecology unit. It is in Chapter 15, 17 & 19 in our textbook. We are testing over the vocabulary on Friday, March 26th, and will start our biomes project next week.
Body Systems
We are finishing up our unit on Body Systems. Yesterday, the advanced science classes presented their presentations to the regular classes. As part of the assignment, the advanced students had to make a powerpoint and a puzzle over their body system. Today my regular students are doing the puzzles. After spring break we will jump into our ecology unit!
Welcome!
Welcome to my new blog! I am still learning, so be patient with me!
